Closets:

Men's Closet:

Before:  Drawers are too full to be closed and things are not logically placed. Many items need to be donated as they are too large. Others need to be tossed as now are never worn.

 

After:  Clothing is grouped, all dress shirts together, all casual shirts together, etc... This makes finding outfits and, importantly, putting away after laundry day much easier.

 

Detail:  "Laundry" bin is not easy to use so is repurposed for containing caps.


Ladies Closet:

Before:  Many outdated items were taking up valuable closet space. Shelf space is not used to its maximum potential. Items other than clothes are being stored as well.

 

After:  Many clothes are purged and donated and the rest zoned into business wear and casual wear. Sweaters are folded to save space and shoes are grouped by color.

 

Detail:  Empty hangers "holding space" for items at dry cleaners or in the laundry.


Craft Closet:

Before:  2 closets are dedicated to supplies but without order it is hard to find the exact item for a specific hobby.

 

After:  Shelves are moved to accommodate all items and boxes. Papers are stored vertically and other items are boxed in consistent clear containers.

 

Detail:  Not only are all boxes boldly labeled but the shelf edges are as well so that they are put back in the same place.


Cleaning Closet:

Before:  Seldom used medicines are put on a high shelf in an often used closet to keep safe from children but are hard to access especially when the kids are sick. This space is in a

 

After:  Space is much better used to have cleaning supplies close to hand. Turntables make it easy to reach supplies and hanging shelves take advantage of wasted space caused by un-adjustable shelves.

 

Detail:  The medicines are sorted and stowed in labeled boxes at the top of a linen closet.
